Casting Guide

There are many ways a custom orthotic can be made. We can make hand crafted, precision quality, custom orthotics for your patients once we receive a negative cast. You can use foam, plaster or 3D laser scanning. All casting options will produce a great orthotic for your patient, and the method you use depends on your style as a practitioner.

Plaster Cast

This method involves a fair amount of time and clean up and is a good method to use when trying to capture bony abnormalities.

 

Foam Cast

This method is quick, requires less cleanup and done well it captures a good profile of the foot.

Laser Scanning

This is the newest method in the industry, and is easy to do, fast and has less clean up required. Ask us if you would like more information on using our 3D scanner.
